"Our Previous Life: TO23-35 Social Club"


We began our journey way back in November 7, 2004 as a Toronto's Social Meetup Group. One the first Social Meetups in Toronto and in 2005 evolved into Toronto's 23-35 Social Group. Through that incarnation we expanded by over 900 members!

We were a different breed of group. One which took attendance seriously and one that was not afraid to remove members who ignored their attendance regardless of how it affected the group. With a diversity of events, from museums, to nature walks, clubbing nights to book lover events, as the organizer I tried to keep the group relevant and varied.

Tons of new friendships and in many cases relationships sprung up. Heck as far as I know, at least 4 couples who met in the group have eventually gone off and gotten married! That's definitely a nice swan song for a group which has run mostly by myself.

However as times changes, needs change. As such, this pretty trippy group is finally growing up. Adding on some responsibility as so many things in the world would benefit from a little hand. And I think we can do that, even if it is through the same channels and means we did before. We loose nothing by trying.

I am sure it will be a nice ride.
