Make Friends & Help The World Be A Better Place!Hi everyone,
Just a quick "allo" from your organizer! Plus this is a quick overview of what we are doing in the group in the nearby future. As you know, a lot of changes are a comin'!
First as most of you know, there will be a meetup this
Friday at Dora Keogh, which should be a excellent laid back evening for drinks & socializing. 8 Members from one of my other group have signed up already so if you feel like coming out and join, feel free to RSVP and do so.
Next, for those of you who are like me and enjoy the
Art Of The Brunch Series, there will be
Socially Responsible Brunch this Saturday coming up at The PearTree, where half of the proceeding will be donated to the Red Cross to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.
There will also be a
karaoke night @ The Groundhog which was requested by a few of you which will take place in one our group's favorite spots to sing, be silly and be seen be to silly. Check the picture on the event page out to see what we are talking about. It was awesome!
Of course there are more events coming down the pipe including one for the book lovers in the group a "20 Books In 20 Minutes" review which be held at the beautiful
Ben Mcnally Bookstore in which Ben himself will give us a no pulling punches barrage on the top 20 books to make waves this year. That should be great and it will be posted shortly.
Also, as part of the ongoing group changes, starting as of this second. Okay...
NOW. Alright, staring from that second that just went by, the group went through a name change towards sheer, debonair simplicity. One that broadens the group's focus rather than shrink it, as a lot of groups tend to do. From then on, the group's name is
Toronto Friends and our new slice of the web is
www.torontofriends.org. Which should make it snap to find.
If you have any feedback, new folders have been setup in our message board for everyone to chat it up, so feel free to drop in your 2 cents.
Have a look!Spread the word!
