Hello Everyone!

So, what is new?

As we continue the changes, like our new streamlined look and name, I wanted to thank everyone who has been coming out. Slowly and $1 for $1, we have collected $75 in about three events. Which is more than what we had before and a great step forward!

I will go donate this amount to the Red Cross, in person and in the name of the group this morning. I am just waiting for them to open at 9:00am. I will see what they can provide to me as proof, you know, to quench any possible cynical minds out there. But in all, I am very proud of what we are doing here gang!

Also, if you are new, you might have noticed I have not uploaded any photos in the Photos section in a while. Unfortunately, it seems my Canon A640 joined a union behind my back somewhere and as such, decided to just stop working! I am in the process of taking it out back and mercilessly rattling some sense into it. However, it seems like it bit the dust and as such... it's time a for a new camera. Which I will see what I can get in the next couple of weeks.

As far as events we have a Pool night at the Rivoli coming up and if you love to sing your heart out a Karaoke night event next weekend. They are going to be a lot of chances to make new friends so you will not want to miss those.

Oh, and last but not least, if you love to read or have picked up a book by osmosis in the last year or so, one of the most exciting events coming up is the 20 Book review in 20 Minutes going to be held at the excellent BenMcNally Books. I have attended some parties there before and the moment I walked in, the first thing that popped in my head was " I've got to set up an event in here!" I can't wait to see what news books are making the waves this year! It will be a lot of fun and half of the funds raised go again, to the Red Cross.

On a different note, I would love to hear your feedback so feel free to pop over to the Message Board and tell me what is on your mind and if you have any ideas of any future meetups. I am creating a thread under this message and, well, that is what is there for.
