TorontoFriends.org is for
anyone and everyone who wants to meet like-minded & socially responsible individuals who share the same positive attitude.
Please take notice: The focus of our group is
NOT to a dating group! 'TorontoFriends' is a non-profit social venue meant for individuals who want to broaden their circle of friends regardless of gender while at the same time take on a positive role for our fair city. Simply too much posturing if it were a singles group.
Meeting members of the opposite sex is not hard, but meeting in an environment where both men and women can joke around, be themselves and not be concerned with the proverbial "is he trying to hit on me?" mentality is the focus of our group. Not every guy who is friendly and smiles wants you. So guys: relax! And ladies: Please leave that attitude at the door before coming in.
I am only saying this because innocent politeness has been mistaken for something else and it has come up in the past. Guys, in the same token, if you are here to just pick up women, then try one of the "singles" groups instead.
On the other side of the coin, if two individuals happen to find each other, well... enjoy each other's meaningful company and conversation, then that is certainly none of my business, and I wish you well.
Oh, one last thing, attendance and participation are very important.
Other groups may have a larger membership, but sometimes numbers are misleading.
Sometimes up to half of the members in a group are 'inactive.' Which means those who are inactive do not actually participate or even visit the group's website anymore. Which is fine as people's interests change or because of a multitude of life changes
Yet that is not fair to those who are here to really meet and enlarge their circle of friends.
As such, inactive members are constantly removed in order to improve the overall group; the same is done to no-shows.
In fact if you are a no show you risk being removed. Please check the group regulations on the message regarding that.
The simple way around it is to either RSVP 'NO' when you are not going to make it or come when you click on 'YES.'
Also please avoid changing your RSVP within last 24 hours or so if possible since I have to make reservations days before hand. I am sure you can see how that can become a problem.
Alright, with that all said and done. WELCOME TO THE GROUP!
Cheers
Mauricio
